Integrating Kubernetes+Ceph with the Rancher Management Interface for Medical Applications

Due to the continuous increase in the number of medical systems such as the electronic medical record management systems, hospital personnel systems, and inspection report management systems, medical systems need to become more scalable and manageable through the subordinate service platform. It also needs to be safe, and have horizontally expandable storage space in the background.

With microservices being the current trend, InwinStack provides solutions for medical institutions to completely and securely migrate existing system services and development processes to Kubernetes + Ceph cluster architectures. In addition to using Kubernetes to manage container services, we can further provide cluster management capabilities through Rancher, which will provide both an optimized user interface and a smoother implementation of DevOps.

In the application of DevOps, Ci/CD is usually one of the top priorities as it can be implemented on the Kubernetes and Rancher container management platforms. Op Engineer uses Rancher to manage and test the Kubernetes environment for its cluster management features.

To deal with the large storage requirements, including inspection data, X-Ray images, etc., the API is integrated into the application source code and uploaded to the Ceph storage cluster using the RadosGW S3 Protocol. Databases have been able to directly access large files such as images and then simply access the Ceph object path, an implementation of old and new technology.
