4/13 has been a big day for the development of Kubernetes in Taiwan, with the success of the first official Kubernetes Conference, hosted by ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute), Cloud Computing & IoT Association in Taiwan, and inwinSTACK Inc. at TPKA (Taipei Far Eastern Telecom Park). The event attracted over 150 participants, with leading technologists of cloud and containers giving speeches on topics of Containers, Kubernetes, and its related applications and use cases. A workshop on TensorFlow, a deep learning/machine learning software library developed by Google, was held concurrently at the training room of inwinSTACK Inc. in the same building. Topics on how Tensorflow and Kubernetes are integrated were also discussed as a major purpose of this workshop. Together, the seminar and workshop helped promote the Kubernetes user group within Taiwan and the ecosystem as a whole, by bringing developers, research technologists, and enterprises together to participate in the world of container-centric infrastructures and applications.
Six speakers were invited to present their experiences and knowledge on Kubernetes, one of whom being Ian Lewis, a Developer Advocate on the Google Cloud Platform team who came from Japan to share his experiences on Kubernetes and its integration between OCI (Open Containers Initiative) standard containers.
